Christmas Blogger Q&A Series - Love, Libby xx

I’m Libby, and I blog at www.lovelibby.co.uk. I’m 23 and live just outside of London, in Hertfordshire. Love, Libby xx is a blog dedicated to all things beauty and lifestyle.  I like to go to new places, drink new drinks and buy lots of beauty products, even though I physically can’t use any more then I already do. I can spend hours talking about different glitter pigments or matte lipsticks and love a good candle or 2.

Question 1 – What is your favourite Christmas memory?

I can’t think of 1 thing that sticks out more than other’s from over the years, but really, it’s got to be that feeling of waking up on Christmas day as a child – well, until I was around 11 I suppose. Yep, still believed in Santa at 11! We’d wake up and have to wait till my parents “were ready” before we could go in the lounge/living room. That feeling of amazement when we saw all those presents under the tree was just unreal. To this day, I still make myself wait to open anything on Christmas day, so I still feel like that child with hours of present opening ahead of me!

Question 2 – Are there any traditions you have around Christmas time?

Our only real tradition is on Christmas eve – every year we have a take away for dinner haha! Random, I know – but mum just can’t be bothered to cook the night before the big day! I think we just have quite a standard Christmas day, presents and dinner then we have a nap before we have a few drinks and play a few games. I guess on Boxing Day we always have ham egg & chips for dinner so that’s kind of a tradition as well. Why are my traditions always food related?

Question 3 – What is on your Christmas wish list this year?

I never know what I want for Christmas in particular. My family use the Amazon Wishlist feature to buy for each other – some would call it boring, but at the same time at least we never end up with pointless presents we will never use which have therefor been a waste of money to buy. I know it’s not about what you get, but at the end of the day, people do spend money on the presents you receive! I tend to add to my wish list throughout the year because whatever I don’t receive, I’ll then buy for myself as the months pass anyway. It’s mainly makeup, candles and things like hair straighteners or car radio’s haha! As I said, things that I’d buy myself anyway, just this way I’m giving other people that chance to buy it for me first!

Question 4 – Do you like to wear Christmas jumpers, if you do; what is your favourite Christmas jumper?

OK I don’t wear Christmas jumpers. I’ll be straight with you here… I have been quite blessed (sort of) with the assets on my chest. Basically, I have quite large breasts lol! Fitting them into jumpers is a nightmare and If I buy something a few sizes up to ensure it goes over them, the item of clothing is to big everywhere else and can look silly! Maybe 1 day…

Question 5 – Do you like to give presents or receive presents?

As much as I’ve already said I love opening presents and saving them all up to seem like I have more (lol, I’m such a child!). Christmas is all about giving, and always will be! Nothing beats seeing someone open a gift you’ve bought especially for them and smiling. Knowing that you’ve filled that person with happiness is a great feeling. I actually start buying Christmas presents around July time! Just so I know I’ve got enough time and cash to buy everyone something I know they’re going to appreciate.

Question 6 – Do you like the Christmas goodies such as Mince Pies, Christmas Pudding or the limited edition drinks?

MMMMMMMMM I love dee food at Christmas. Most of it anyway. Christmas is made for having a blow out, right?! I love a good mince pie or some dry roasted pea nuts and I like washing it down with a baileys! However, I must confess, I hate Christmas Pudding. Always have, always will. Ugh, I have the shivers just thinking about it!

Question 7 – What is your favourite part of Christmas dinner?

How can I pick a favourite? To be honest, Christmas is really the only time of year we have a proper roast! So you can imagine how much I look forward to all that stuffing, sausage meat, pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese haha! I think my favourite is roast potato’s covered in lots of gravy, I’m a potato addict and could eat them from the minute I wake up that morning till the minute I go to bed that night! Hate parsnips though, don’t come near me with those fake potatoes…. If this question wasn’t meant to be food related, I do admit I love having my family all around the table at once, it’s a rare occasion. But, mainly, I like the food…

Question 8 – What is your favourite Christmas Song?

Oh gosh, everyone know’s I hate picking favourite songs! I’m just gonna link you to Mariah Carey because it’s a great song to sing along too!

Question 9 – Are you taking part in Blogmas or Vlogmas this year?

I really wanted to do the whole Blogmas thing, I’ve been thinking about it for months! However I don’t get time off work at Christmas and will even be working Christmas day! So in reality, I really don’t think I’m going to have the time nor imagination to come out with that much content (that sounds awful, but hey, I’d never be anything but honest!) I’ve been thinking of maybe doing 12 Days of Christmas instead just so I’m not under as much pressure but I’ve not made my mind up yet!

Question 10 – Do you have anything exciting coming up on your blog next year?

2017 is hopefully going to be a big year for Love, Libby xx. I’ve been spending lots of time lately brain storming changes, new schedules and new series’ but just feel like I should wait until January 1st before I put them in place! There will be a blog post up all about these changes in the next few weeks which will set everything in stone!

Thank You

Thank you to Libby for taking part in this Christmas Blogger Q&A Series. It is no secret (as I said in my Blogger Tag post) that Libby is my Soul Sister in the world of blogging. She is always there for me, no matter if it right then or 2 weeks later (as we are rubbish at replying to each other). She really is such a dear friend of mine which I spoke to in the first week of blogging, and I hope it is a friendship which will last forever.

I really can’t wait to meet Libby in person one day and as she suggested (in her response to my Blogger Tag post), a meet up in Harry Potter Studios sounds perfect. I think we should do a big blogger meet-up there, wouldn’t it be amazing?

  • I believed in Santa until I was 11 too! I was questioning it but my parents told me before I went to comprehensive school. I love the idea of a takeaway on Christmas eve, we don’t do anything special the night before, I might have to start this tradition! I always do leftover turkey and chips after Christmas too! Absolutely HOWLED at the answer about Christmas jumpers :’) xx

    • Libby Xo

HA! Thanks lovely. I was thinking “shall I just say I love Christmas jumpers and move on or should I just be honest?”, as always, I was compelled by honesty haha! x

    • StephsWorld

If nothing, the girl is honest with everything! The large chest killed me! I read it and couldn’t wait for everyone to giggle along with Libby. I love the magic of Santa and what he brings, even though I am 20+, I still love the thought of Santa making his journey around the world. Sad, I know! Turkey and Chips is delicious with an egg and some pickled onions in my opinion <3 Yummy! xx

      • Libby Xo

Confession: I have never, ever, eaten a pickled onion! HA! x

  • I do love a Bailey’s on Christmas I must admit, and I also believed in Santa til a fairly late age (my parents were always super convincing) no shame in keeping that magic alive!
