Today we welcome Ames from Eggs, Avo and Ames…

Eggs, Avo and Ames

Hi guys! Im Ames and i have a food, turned lifestyle blog called ‘Eggs, Avo and Ames’. After I started my food blog I realised I actually enjoyed writing about lots of different subjects rather than just one, so i have slightly adapted it to a lifestyle blog instead. Im relatively new to blogging and by no means an expert but I’m learning and finding my feet and loving every part of it so far.

Question 1 – What is your favourite Christmas memory?

My favourite Christmas memory would have to be when i was maybe about 8, my sister 6. Our stockings were always at the end of the bed and you could feel with your feet if it was heavy and Santa had been (we shared a room at this time). We woke up one Christmas super early and Santa had been, so we decided to open our stockings before anyone else was awake. We laid everything out on our beds under our duvet and then we heard who we thought was our mum coming, so we pulled our duvets over everything and pretended to be asleep. In crept our older brother who would have been about 12 at the time, he snuck in and said “girls Santa’s been” and we threw back our duvet and said “we know look!” It was brilliant we laughed for so long and it was all so innocent and when we still believe in Santa so thats definitely got to be one of my favourite memories.

Question 2 – Are there any traditions you have around Christmas time?

My mums birthday is the 14th so we always make sure we have the tree up and decorated in time for that. We also love a good game of Charades or Who am I?

Question 3 – What is on your Christmas wish list this year?

Thats a good question actually, my mum keeps asking me the same thing! I find that all through the year i have 100 things I would like and then as soon as it comes to my birthday or Christmas my brain has a mini melt down and forgets everything. I enjoy getting lots of little bits over Christmas rather than one big present so i always tend to ask for gym bits or perfume, make up etc.

Question 4 – Do you like to wear Christmas jumpers, if you do; what is your favourite Christmas jumper?

I wouldn’t say I’m one for Christmas jumpers to be honest, although I did buy one a few years ago from Primark I think, that I took on my winter season with me and I wore it to our Christmas dinner but it didn’t exactly have a reindeer nose or a carrot sticking out of it, thats not very me haha. You can slightly see it in this only had little snowflakes on and was quite subtle.

Question 5 – Do you like to give presents or receive presents?

Of course everyone loves receiving a gift but I definitely love giving more. My boyfriend gets really angry at how much I spend every year as we have such a big family and i always want to buy everyone something and it ends up being very expensive! Its just such a nice feeling giving someone something they maybe weren’t expecting you know. I’ve actually been given a limit this year on how much I’m allowed to spend haha.

Question 6 – Do you like the Christmas goodies such as Mince Pies, Christmas Pudding or the limited edition drinks?

Im definitely a mince pie kind of girl, warmed up in the microwave with a bit of cream poured over the top, so good! Actually to tell you a secret I think we bought our first pack this year in October oops.

Question 7 – What is your favourite part of Christmas dinner?

Oh it has to be pigs in blankets, for me, they are so iconic to Christmas and it never fees right to have them any other day. I do love a good cracker also, especially when you get something thats actually really useful, they’re brill.

Question 8 – What is your favourite Christmas Song?

Easy! Wham – Last Christmas I play that one of repeat all through December.

Question 9 – Are you taking part in Blogmas or Vlogmas this year?

Being a pretty newbie blogger I’m not actually sure what that is haha, but I’m open to trying all sorts of new things so maybe once I figure out what it is ill give it a go.

Question 10 – Do you have anything exciting coming up on your blog next year?

Ive just recently started working and collaborating with companies and brands which i am really enjoying so going into the new year you can be sure to see lots of exciting collaborations on my blog and I’ve also got a few exciting things happening next year that I can’t actually disclose right now but be sure to keep your eyes pealed!

Thank You

Thank you to Ames for taking part in this Christmas Blogger Q&A Series. I re-discovered Ames’ blog through doing this series and remembered how great it was, especially her Pinchpunch monthly round-up series.

  • Ok so I have now bookmarked this blog to go have a massive binge read of! Fabulous choice of Christmas song and I so agree with the presents – I so much prefer lots of little things than one big present! The Christmas memory was adorable, I can just imagine all pinging back into their beds thinking it was their mum, squashed in a bed full of presents haha!

Aawh that was a great read, I loved your Christmas memory, something similar to what my brother and I used to do. We would stay up all night to hear ‘Santa’s sleigh’ land, tracking his movements and pretend to sleep when we can hear it come. Lovee your christmas jumper 🙂
