Welcome to day 15 of the Christmas Blogger Q&A. Today’s Christmas Q&A is with Jessica and James from Food and Baker.
Food and Baker
We are Jessica Bautista and James Baker; we are a UK based Couple Food & Travel Bloggers, with a touch of YouTube. We love to share our life; what we eat, where we go and what we do together.
Question 1 – What’s your Christmas tradition?
We wouldn’t say it’s necessarily a ‘Christmas’ tradition but it’s a tradition we started from the beginning of our relationship that we’ve always done around the Christmas period. We would go to Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park and find an activity, something different each year within the park to do/see and go eat at Vapiano’s after. 3 years and counting, without a fail.
Question 2 – What is your favourite Christmas indulgence?
Anything chocolate and salted caramel, it’s just that time of year where anything sweet is acceptable. James is a big chocolate fan all year round, as Jessica becomes more of a fan around this time. If it’s in front of you, how could you say no?
Question 3 – What is the best gift you have ever received?
Jessica – The Happiness Planner from James, as it’s something I’ve wanted for a long time and it’s helped me achieve one of the biggest things that’s important to me, focusing on my happiness.
James – Getting to spend last Christmas with my babe Jessica has to be the one!
Question 4 – Are you an early gift buyer or leave them to the last minute?
James has always been the go with the flow type of gift buyer, as Jessica is has always been an advance gift buyer. Now with purchasing presents together, it has become more of a early discussion but a reasonable time with purchasing (but mostly still planned ahead)
Question 5 – Do you have a favourite shop to buy gifts?
Notonthehighstreet.com, although it’s not a store but it is always a favourite as we believe nothing beats a personalised gift.
Question 6 – Is there something which you always wanted for Christmas but never got?
Jessica – I’ve never been too fussy on receiving gifts, I’ve always struggled to tell people what I want. I do want an Apple Watch now though *hint hint*
James – Again, I rarely ask for presents so I’m lucky enough to have family and friends who know me well enough to get amazing gifts year after year.
Question 7 – What is the most thoughtful gift that you brought someone?
Not to sound all big headed, but we pride myself in getting gifts that fully suit the receiver, if not, get exactly what they want. I do like to think of gifts to be something practical as well as getting them something they wouldn’t get for themselves. So, in shorter words, every present!
Question 8 – If you could be in any Christmas movie, which one would you be in?
Would absolutely adore to be in Elf, it’s just such a classic film and too funny to not want to be a part of.
Question 9 – What is your earliest Christmas memory?
Instead of dissuading our earliest Christmas memory as individuals, we’ll tell you about our first Christmas physically together, which was last year. We went to Chester to James’ family home, opened our presents early morning, saw the family and had an amazing homemade Christmas dinner made by his Mum. It was such a lovely traditional Christmas with James’ family.
Question 10 – What makes Christmas special for you?
Not to sound like a walking cliche, but of course it’s spending time with family and close ones. But if you’re here for the big truth, it’s obviously the food! All the food, all the Christmas classics and desserts! YUM!
What is something you have been proud of in terms of blogging this year?
We are very proud of accomplishing the Interrail travels of 2017, we have such big plans for 2018 – are travelling and something very big launch from our food blog which we will not share just yet, but it’ll be worth the wait.
